Unfortunately along with all other retailers we will be impacted by the surcharges and disruption to delivery to Olympic Zones during the games and the Paralympics games. We are sorry for the hassle this will cause but aim to inform all customers affected ASAP. There may be additional delivery charges for certain areas, for parcels and pallets.
We will call customers to advise prior to shipment. Transport and Delivery Implications In line with all transport operators, Palletways (our pallet delivery provider) has planned its strategy to minimise disruption to its service prior to, during and immediately post the Olympics and Paralympics in London in the summer of 2012.
There will inevitably be disruption resulting from the lane closures along the Olympic Route Network (ORN) and Paralympic Route Network (PRN) during events and increased congestion as a result. No solutions will be ruled in or out but we are committed to providing the best possible service to our customers and members throughout the games period. Whilst every effort will be made by the delivery depots involved to achieve service,
Customers need to understand that these two events are the largest and second largest logistics events since WWII. Deliveries to premises on the Olympic Route Network (ORN) or Paralympic Network (PRN) will be made at night (no deliveries are possible from 06:00 – 00:00). Deliveries to Games Venues across the country can only be delivered by UPS. Unfortunately the delivery charge will may be in excess of £100.
