A disabled Rotherham teenager is now able to feed his fish in his own garden pond by hand. The teenager who has cerebral palsy is over the moon.

Bolton-on-Dearne, born Daniel Woodhead has in the past only been able to enjoy watching his father feed the fish in his pond, due to the 16 year old being confined to a wheel chair. Until recently he has never been able to complete this simple enjoyable task himself.

With the help of the Starlight Children’s Foundation and Dobbies Garden World in Chesterfield, Daniel is now able to feed his fish by hand himself. They have lowered the pond and added new water features to make the pond extra special.

Daniels mum happily told The Star “The pond is just brilliant and Dan is out there every day with his fish.”

Garden ponds can bring benefit to any garden, with numerous designs available that can be added. Pre-formed ponds offer a quick and simple option to install a new garden pond. These can be purchased relatively cheaply from many leading retailers. Installing a water feature can attract more birds and animals to a garden including frogs, and birds.
